Thank you for the water from yesterday.

Each neighbor wrote a sentence—dictated, not made up. “Thank you for listening without advice.” “Дякую за воду вчора.” The kraft paper smelled of coffee and the dampness of the landing; that was intentional. Staircase solidarity, not overt.
